YANGON, Jan. 7 () -- Myanmar sport authorities have called for launching intensive training for athletes to get better prepared for 27th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which is to be hosted in Myanmar next year, an official daily report said Saturday.U Thaung Htaik, who is the general-secretary of Myanmar Olympic Committee and the Director-General of Sports and Physical Education Department, made a call at the coordination meeting for giving necessary training camps to the athletes on Friday, said the New Light of Myanmar.He also urged officials concerned to step up the intensive training at the central training camp in Nay Pyi Taw. He stressed the importance of correct techniques to achieve success in the games.The 27th SEA Games will be hosted by Myanmar in three major cities of Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay in December 2013, said the Flower News.Meanwhile, Myanmar sports authorities have mobilized about 12,000 young volunteers to serve in communication for the upcoming Games.The Ministry of Sports will conduct four training courses for the volunteers with the first set for Jan. 24 to 31.
