Yosemite sam, nemesis to bugs bunny and various other looney toons characters, is one of the most vivid yet underappreciated characters to come out of warner bros.Studios.
Yosemite sam, the"Roughest, toughest, heman stuffiest hombre as ever crossed the rio grande", was first introduced in the cartoon Hare Trigger, released May 5, 1945, starring he and Bugs Bunny.He is best recognized by his enormous 10gallon hat and large red moustache.Maltese claims he based the peronality of yosemite sam on freleng himself.It is debatable that yosemite sam's design concept is based on previous oneshot characters from warner bros.Productions;These characters were sheriff deadeye and red hot ryder.
As with many other looney toons characters, mel blanc played the voice for yosemite sam.Bill farmer played the voice of yosemite sam in 1996's space jam, and in 1988's who framed roger rabbit he was voiced by joe alasky.
Yosemite sam has played many different 'roles'.He has been a pirate, a gunslinger, a hunter, an arabian sheik, a train robber, a prison guard, a hessian, a mayoral candidate, a claim jumper, a bank robber, a colonel in the confederate army, a roman centurion, sam crusoe, a mountaineer, a sultan, the black knight, a mercenary indian leader, a duke, a viking, a spaceman, a demon, a red barontype, and, of course, a cowboy.
In addition to all this, an oscar award was won in 1959 for the cartoon movie knighty knight bugs.
Yosemite sam has also appeared in several comic books since the 1950s.They include the dell warner bros.Comic books of the 1950s, gold key comic books(With his own series)In the 1970s and 1980s, and presently makes sporadic appearances in dc's looney tunes comic books.
Interesting tidbit:If you will think back to tiny toon adventures, yosemite sam has, scarily enough, found a follower of sorts in the form of montana max.

Every now and then, my friend kelly and her husband take off for two days and have a mini vacation in atlantic city.Their daughter, curlyq, who is jd's age, spends that time with her grandma and grandpa.My friend matt and his girlfriend, brooke are going to istanbul today and maddy is spending time with her grandparents(Gotta love grandparents! ).I think this is awesome.I think there should be a chapter in a parenting book about aborting your parental responsibilities and recharging every now and then.Girls aged 15 to 19.The survey, based on 2009 figures, is even six percent lower than the 2008 record low.Some speculate shows like mtv's 16 and pregnant and teen mom are helping to educate young viewers on the raw and sometimes gritty side of teen parentingand it was an emotional struggle in this week's sixteen and pregnant that surely opened a lot of young viewers' eyes.I mean, i'm a 30yearold single mom and i was not only crying my eyes out, but also extremely frustrated and sad.
When jd was a few months old, i would often take him to nyc to have brunch with my friends.We dined at places like spring street natural and jane.I would wheel my stroller into the restaurant and quickly feed jd a bottle and burp him.Then i would recline his stroller and tuck him under a blanket for a nap.And he would nap the entire brunchin case you didn't know nyc brunches are long and boozy(Well not boozy for me), but you get the pointmy baby was an angel.The patrons in their fancy clothes with designer bags didn't even notice him, because he was that quiet.I haven't been to an nyc brunch with jd since before he turned two.I would never subject the other diners to my preschooler who wants to eat in like 10 minutes flat, race matchbox cars on the table and color(And by color, i mean drop the crayons on the floor 500 times in a row. )Now i dine at family friendly restaurants or take jd on walks here and there when eating out at nice restaurants that don't have a kiddy menu(Yes, we obviously eat at nice places too).I thought i was safe yesterday when i met my mom at a diner for dinner.I said diner and no, i was not safe.
Well, i turned 30 yesterday and i have to say it was kind of uneventful.As you know, jd is sick, so i couldn't really party or go out to eat because when jd is sick all he wants is mommy.I happily cuddled up with my son all weekendthat's what parents dotake care of their kidsstop everything, move mountainswatch cars multiple times and read the same book again, again, again.Well, aside from being a mommynurse, i learned something awesomei mean soooooo awesome, that promises to rescue me this long, cold winter when we're trapped indoors watching the snow pile up.
My 30th birthday is this sunday.My friends from high school took me out to dinner this week and gave me a gift certificate to a spaso excited!I could really, truly use a spa day.My brother carlo cooked dinner for me this past sunday and staged a little family birthday party.He's traveling to florida with his family to visit his inlaws tomorrow, so he won't be here for my actual 30th.I can always rely on carlo to do something special for me.He's very aware there is no one to take jd shopping for my birthday or mother's day gifts, so he always takes him shopping so he can pick out a treat for me(And not that i really want or need anything, but this is truly the meaning of, it's the thought that counts. )Wanna see what jd got me?
Well, it was only a matter of time before jd got sick.Cold and flu season coupled with school is the ideal mix for winter sickies.It started yesterday.I was working from home and jd was also home with me.And cuddling in my bed.Jd watches barney and i fake sleep.Then i made some coffee and fixed jd some fresh fruit salad and toast with butter.He ate and asked if we could do play doh.So, we made gingerbread men and snowmen out of neoncolored play doh while listening to christmas music and lounging in our jammies(Sweet morning! ).Jd ate his morning snack(Carrot sticks, a cheese stick and a yogurt drink)And we finally got dressed.Only we didn't leave to run errands or take a winter walk around the grounds of our condo complex.Jd fell asleep on the couch.First red flag!Jd doesn't nap until after lunch.Her work has been buzzed about in the new york times, wall street journal and on abc's 20/20.
