DAMASCUS, June 30 () -- Syrian troops killed dozens of armed opposition fighters in the rebellious Damascus' suburb of Douma on Saturday, state media says, as activists said Syrian army recovered Douma after a week thick with clashes.The competent authorities have continued tracking down remnants of the armed groups in Douma and its edges, said SANA, adding the government troops stormed the hideouts of the armed men, confiscating large quantities of weaponries.During the raid and peruse, large number of the gunmen were killed and dozens of others arrested, said SANA, adding that the authorities are still after the armed men in a bid to "purge" the city from their remnants.Meanwhile, the oppositional Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Syrian troops have recaptured Douma. It said, however, that the situation in Douma is deteriorated, with a shortage of food stuffs, power and water.Douma has emerged a hotspot of Syria's 16-month-old crisis. The sprawling suburb has been a battleground for armed rebels stationing in residential areas, and government troops trying to flush them out. SANAA, Jan. 9 () -- Yemeni Prime Minister Mohamed Basindwa left Monday for Riyadh, heading a high-level delegation in a multi-leg tour in the Gulf to seek financial support for aiding his country out of its economic crisis, the state SABA news agency reported.The prime minister headed the delegation of ministers of foreign affairs, electricity, oil, finance, planning, information, expatriates and interior. Beside Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni officials will tour Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and United Arab of Emirates, according to SABA."The tour aims to seek an immediate financial support for aiding the Yemeni government's projects to help us overcome the current economic crisis," SABA quoted Basindwa as saying upon his departure to Riyadh."We will also try to convince the leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members to help establish an international fund to help revive the sluggish economy in Yemen," he said.Yemeni officials said that Basindwa would also discuss the preparation of "Friends of Yemen", an international donor meeting that was scheduled to be held later this month in Riyadh.The tour would be the first of its kind since Basindwa, an opposition leader, was appointed as prime minister of the new coalition government earlier last month in accordance with the GCC- brokered power transfer deal that designated to end months of protests against the 33-year rule of outgoing President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
